Who is this course suitable for?

The Level 3 Emergency First Aid training is the first step towards saving a life and may prove useful for any member of the general public. A fully trained First Aider also enables a company to comply with Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981. The Level 3 Emergency First Aid at work course is suitable for anyone working in low-risk office-based environment. This course is suitable for you if you working in the followng work environmnet:

Study Method:

At Bright Learning centre, this course is delivered by our qualified and experienced tutors. We deliver this course to meet individual’s needs, therefore you can complete this course by the following method:

Classroom-Based Learning:

We deliver this course in classroom based environment only. It is 6 days course including first Aid qualification. Learners must attend all 6 days to gain this qualifcation. 


There is no formal examination for this course. However, each learner is assessed throughout the course using a range of practical demonstrations, question and answers. Learners are required to demonstrate the ability to identify, recognize and treat casualties with the use of their knowledge taught in this course.

Course content

Once enrolled on L3 Emergency first at work qualification, you will be learning how to manage an unconscious casualty, non-breathing, bleeding, ill or injured casualty, before the arrival of the emergency services. This course will cover the following:

  • Responsibilities of the First Aider
  • How to check for breathing
  • assessing and monitoring a casualty
  • where to get help in emergency First aid situations
  • accident recording and reporting procedures
  • Recovery position
  • Resuscitation of a non-breathing casualty (CPR)
  • Choking
  • Major bleeding and Shock management
  • Minor injuries & burns
  • Seizures
  • Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Entry Requirements:

There is no formal requirement for this course as long as the candidate has basic functional skills (Numeracy, Literacy and ICT). You will also have to provide us with your Photo Identification such as Passport or Full UK driving Licence.

What certificate am I going to receive?

Once you complete the qualification successfully, you will be awarded a Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work certificate which is valid for 3 years.

What careers can I choose with this qualification?

Learners who will successfully complete Level 2 Award in working as Door Supervisor are eligible to work as Security guard or Door Supervisor. You will be able to work in Private Security Industry such as bars, pubs, clubs and other licenced premises at public events. The average salary for door supervisor is £17000 – £22000 per annum.

How long is the Emergency First Aid at Work Course?

The Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work course is delivered in one day. The course normally starts at 9:00AM and finishes at 4:00PM.

How can I complete this course at Bright Learning Centre?

At Bright Learning Centre, this course is delivered by our qualified and experienced tutors. We deliver this course to meet an individual’s needs. The Level 3 Emergency First Aid at work is completed by classroom-based learning in a friendly and relaxed environment.


To get a front-line licence, you will need to do the Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry. To obtain this qualification, you will need to complete 4 training modules and pass the exams. As per the latest SIA Update, Door supervision training must be delivered over a minimum of 6 days. In addition to this, you must also have a first aid qualification before you can take the training.

No, the licence fee is not included in the price of the course. The payment for the SIA licence is £190.00 which is payable to the SIA (Security Industry Authority). This payment can be done online on their website or at the Post Office.
