In order to renew SIA license and continue to work as Security Guards/Officers within Private Security Industry you will need to attend a Top-up Training. The course will be delivered in 1 day. At the end of the course, there will be multiple choice questions exams and Practical assessment.
From October 2021, anyone who need to renew their SIA licence need to complete Top-up training. In addition to this, you must also have a first aid qualification before you can take the training. This should be an Emergency First Aid at work certificate or higher. If you do not already have First Aid qualification, you can attend this as a part of course package.

We deliver this course in classroom based environment only. It is 1 day course including first Aid qualification. Learners must attend all both days to gain this qualifcation.
You will be assessed on each course units separately. Each unit will be assessed by a Multiple-choice exam and Practical assessment.

The SIA Door Supervisor course runs over four days and is divided into 3 modules:
You must also have English language skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening equivalent to the Level 1 functional skills in Literacy.
You will also have to provide your Photo Identification such as Passport and Full UK driving Licence, Passport size photograph and Proof of Address (not more than 3 months old).
Successful candidates will receive a Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry (Top Up) certificate from an awarding body within England and Wales who are currently recognised by Ofqual and Department for Education and Skills. This certificate will enable you to renew your SIA licence.

No, the licence fee is not included in the price of the course. The payment for the SIA licence is £190.00 which is payable to the SIA (Security Industry Authority). This payment can be done online on their website or at the Post Office.

Door Supervisor exam results are usually available within 10-14 working days and you will be notified by email and SMS when your results are available.
You will receive Door Supervisor certificates within 7 working days of course completion and passing the examination. Once you gain this qualification, it is then valid for three years.
Yes, with a Door Supervisor licence you can even work as a security guard. It is important to note that with Security Guard course, you cannot apply for a Door Supervisor badge. Hence, Door Supervisor course is more valuable when applying for jobs and will make you more eligible.

There is no fixed time frame for getting your SIA licence but generally, it can take up to 25 working days. In rare cases, if the issues come up with identity checks or criminal records, it could take up to 6 weeks or even more.
