The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is a teaching qualification. Formerly known as PTLLS. It has been designed for individuals who want to work in the further education sector. Achieving this award will provide sufficient evidence that the learner has acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to prepare, plan, deliver and evaluate basic teaching and learning sessions, in a variety of teaching or teaching contexts.
The Level 3 award in Education and training is a great way to get into teaching. It is a suitable qualification for all teachers willing to work in the further education sector, whether it is adult and community learning, work-based learning, endpoint assessment such as apprenticeship teaching or other parts of learning and skills sector. This qualification enables you to plan lessons, deliver engaging lessons, motivate learners and assess work by following awarding body’s requirements.

At Bright Learning centre, this course is delivered by our qualified and experienced tutors. We deliver this course to meet individual’s needs, therefore you can complete this course by the following methods:
• Classroom-Based Learning
• Distance-based Learning/Online Learning
We offer classroom based Level 3 Award in Education and training in Leicester. This course is made up of three 3 modules, therefore, you will need to attend the course for 3 days.
When completing our classroom based PTLLS course in Leicester, you will complete practical assessment of 15 minutes Micro-teach session. During the micro-teach, you will be observed by your Tutor and other learners on the course. You need to prepare a session plan, PowerPoint presentation, hand-outs for your Micro-teaching session. You will also be observing other tutor delivering a lesson for 45 mins and completing observation report.
The Classroom-based training will include sessions by a qualified trainer, lesson planning, group discussions, assessment planning and inclusive teaching techniques. After the classroom learning, learners will have to submit their portfolio within the 12 weeks. Templates will be provided to make the learning journey easier. Once you submit the portfolio, we will process the assessment and certification.
The online learning course is completed at your own pace with a Tutor’s Support & Guidance. We will provide you with all the necessary material on our E-learning portal once you book the course with us. Once you book this course, you will be given 12 weeks to complete the assignments and submit the portfolio.
However, if you finish early you will receive your certificate early. You will also need to record and submit 15 minutes Micro-teaching session. Your Micro teach session will be assessed by your Tutor. You need to prepare a session plan, PowerPoint presentation, hand-outs for your Micro-teaching session
There is no formal examination for this course but at the end of the course, you will have to submit the portfolio. The course is assessed by your portfolio and your ability to deliver the Micro-teaching session. Learners will be competing for the following:
• Three written assignments
• One micro-teaching session – If you have enrolled to complete classroom based PTLLS course in Leicester, then you will deliver this session in a classroom setup with group of other learners or it can be submitted as recorded video if you are completing the course online.

There is no formal requirement for this course as long as the candidate has basic functional skills (Numeracy, Literacy and ICT). You will also have to provide us with your Photo Identification such as Passport or Full UK driving Licence to join online or classroom based teacher training Leicester.
Once you complete the qualification successfully then you will be awarded a Pearson BTEC Level 3 Award in Education and training certificate.

Yes, you will get full tutor support, via email and telephone, who will mark your assignments and guide you through the course. This qualification lets you deliver unsupervised lessons/classes in the further education sector. It is the requirement by the government that any trainer/teacher holds a nationally recognised teaching qualification before starting their work. These include reading materials outlining the main concepts for each unit with an interactive presentation that should provide the theoretical knowledge you require.
You do not require any prior skills in the subject area to start. However, as with all our courses, we recommend having a basic understanding of the English Language, numeracy, literacy, and ICT.
The course will take 48 guided learning hours to complete. Though, the total time we require you to spend on this Level 3 award is 120 hours, including research and writing assignments. You can complete the course within weeks or spread it over 3 months, the choice is yours!
You will receive everything you need to complete this course, including tutor support for the specified duration of your course. All the written learning materials you require to study this course at home will be provided.
No, this course is assessed by your portfolio and ability to deliver the Micro-teaching session.
Learners are expected to write several short assignments for each of the modules within the award. The assignments should include theory and relate to real workplace teaching situations. Once done, the assignments can be submitted easily by just uploading them onto the online learning portal. There is no need to send them by post or email. Your tutor will provide feedback and give you the chance to resubmit assignments if additional work is required.
It would take up to 4 weeks to get the qualification after completing the assignment. However, you will be informed within 48 hours in case you need to resubmit or make any amendments in the assignments.
