Study Method:

At Bright Learning centre, this course is delivered by our qualified and experienced tutors. We deliver this course to meet individual’s needs, therefore you can complete this course by the following methods:

• Classroom-Based Learning
• Distance-based Learning/Online Learning

Classroom-Based Learning:

We offer classroom based Level 3 Award in Education and training in Leicester. This course is made up of three 3 modules, therefore, you will need to attend the course for 3 consecutive days.

When completing our classroom based PTLLS course in Leicester, you will complete practical assessment of 15 minutes Micro-teach session. During the micro-teach, you will be observed by your Tutor and other learners on the course. You need to prepare a session plan, PowerPoint presentation, hand-outs for your Micro-teaching session.

The Classroom-based training will include sessions by a qualified trainer, lesson planning, group discussions, assessment planning and inclusive teaching techniques. After the classroom learning, learners will have to submit their portfolio within the limited time given. Templates will be provided to make the learning journey easier. Once you submit the portfolio, we will process the assessment and certification.

Distance/Online Learning:

The distance learning course is completed at your own pace with a Tutor’s Support & Guidance. You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. We will provide you with all the necessary material by post or online learning portal once you book the course with us. Once you book this course, you will be given 12 weeks to complete the assignments and submit the portfolio.

 

However, if you finish early you will receive your certificate early. You also need to attend 15 minutes Micro-teach session via online Zoom meeting. Your Micro teach session will be observed by your Tutor and other learners on the course. You need to prepare a session plan, PowerPoint presentation, hand-outs for your Micro-teaching session.

Assessment:

There is no formal examination for this course but at the end of the course, you will have to submit the portfolio. The course is assessed by your portfolio and your ability to deliver the Micro-teaching session. Learners will be competing for the following:
• Three written assignments
• One micro-teaching session – If you have enrolled to complete classroom based PTLLS course in Leicester, then you will deliver this session in a classroom setup with group of other learners or it can be submitted as recorded video if you are completing the course online or via distance learning.

Course content

Our tutors at Bright Learning will prepare our learners to meet language requirements such as Language functions, communication skills, grammar, Lexis and Phonology. You will prepare A1 test level English language structure and Grammar that you require to pass the test such as:

The actual test is taken by Home Office approved provider such as Trinity college London in different locations around the UK. The test fee is £ 150 which is payable to Trinity College London. The test is graded as either pass or fail.

Entry Requirements:

Following are the requirements you will need to meet to start the preparation for A1 SELT test:  

  • Original valid Passport
  • Biometric Residence card
  • Language requirement – able to speak and understand English language up to Pre-Entry Level

Certification:

Once you successfully complete and pass A2 test, you will receive provisional results on the same day and you will normally receive your certificate within 7 days of the test date. You will receive A2 test completion certificate by Trinity College London which will meet the Home Office language requirements to extend your visa for further 2.5 years.
