First Aid at Work – 3 Day HSE Compliant Course

The Level 3 First Aid at Work course is more advanced than the basic 1 day First Aid at work training. It is HSE compliant course. This qualification is designed to ensure first aiders at the workplace are trained under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. This course provides a comprehensive set of practical skills needed to become a confident first aider at work, giving you both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies.

We at Bright Learning, offer accredited First Aid Courses in Leicester. The Level 3 First Aid at Work course is delivered in 18 hours divided in 3 days and provide full knowledge of first aid training. Learners must attend all sessions to be able to complete the qualification. Learners will leave with the confidence to deal with emergency life-threatening situations competently. Our experienced and qualified tutors are experts from the Emergency Services who have ‘been there and done it for real’.

Who is this course suitable for?

The Level 3 First Aid at work course is suitable for those who need to provide first aid to a wide range of accidents, injuries and illness that could occur at the workplace. The qualified person is called First Aider. It is ideal for organisations to have at least one qualified First Aider at the workplace in a matter of emergencies. This three days First Aid at work qualification is most suitable for the following industries:

  • Large organisations
  • High-Risk Industries
  • Education
  • Construction sites

The Level 3 First Aid at Work course enables you to save a life and may prove useful for any member of the general public. This first aid course also enables a company to comply with Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 by having the appropriate number of First Aiders in the workplace.

Study Method:

At Bright Learning centre, this course is delivered by our qualified and experienced tutors. We deliver this course to meet individual’s needs, therefore you can complete this course by the following method:

Classroom-Based Learning:

We deliver this course in classroom based environment only. It is 6 days course including first Aid qualification. Learners must attend all 6 days to gain this qualifcation. 

Assessment:

There is no formal examination for this course. However, each learner is assessed throughout the course using a range of practical demonstrations, question and answers. Learners are required to demonstrate the ability to identify, recognize and treat casualties with the use of their knowledge taught in this course.

Course content

Our 3 days First Aid at Work training comes with a strong reputation and great practical skills. We help our learners to learn a range of practical First Aid skills when attending one of our First Aid courses in Leicester.

In addition to the topics covered on an Emergency first aid at work course, this course covers treatment for a variety of injuries and medical conditions. 

  • Casualty is unresponsive and breathing
  • How to use an automated external defibrillator (AED)
  • Choking
  • Bleeding
  • Suffering from shock
  • Burns
  • Faint
  • Poison
  • Head Injury
  • Hypothermia or heat exhaustion
  • Injury to a bone, muscle or joint (including spinal injuries)
  • Seizure
  • Heart attack, including the administration of aspirin
  • Angina attack
  • Stroke
  • Asthma attack
  • Severe allergic reaction
  • Diabetic emergency.
  • The course also includes information on:
  • Assessing a casualty
  • Monitoring a casualty

Entry Requirements:

There is no formal requirement for this course as long as the candidate has basic functional skills (Numeracy, Literacy and ICT). You will also have to provide us with your Photo Identification such as Passport or Full UK driving Licence and Proof of Address of the last 3 months to join online or classroom-based teacher training Leicester. To ensure you get the most effective learning experience, learners must be physically able to participate and we limit group size to 12 people.

What certificate am I going to receive?

Once you complete the qualification successfully, you will be awarded a Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate which is valid for 3 years.

How long is the course?

The Level 3 First Aid at Work course is delivered in 3 consecutive days. The course normally starts at 9:00AM and finishes at 4:00PM.

FAQ

To get a front-line licence, you will need to do the Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry. To obtain this qualification, you will need to complete 4 training modules and pass the exams. As per the latest SIA Update, Door supervision training must be delivered over a minimum of 6 days. In addition to this, you must also have a first aid qualification before you can take the training.

No, the licence fee is not included in the price of the course. The payment for the SIA licence is £190.00 which is payable to the SIA (Security Industry Authority). This payment can be done online on their website or at the Post Office.
