Personal Licence qualification is one day course. It is a requirement by Licencing Law that anyone requiring Personal Licence must have gained an Award for Personal Licence Holders qualification (APLH) before applying to sell alcohol.
This is a legal requirement that all sales of alcohol taking place on licensed premises in England and Wales must be authorised by a personal licence holder.
Our nationally recognised Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH) qualification is approved and fully accredited by The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation(Ofqual). This 1-day training course has been designed to meet the statutory requirements and includes vital information on the responsibilities of licence holders, duties of the designated premises supervisor(DPS), the role & powers of licensing authorities and police regarding licensed premises.

APLH course aimed at anyone who wishes to sell or authorise the sale of alcohol, specifically those who work in licensed premises or any venue or site where alcohol is sold, for drinking on or off the premises. To apply for Personal Licence you need to gain this qualification.

We deliver this course in classroom based environment only. It is 6 days course including first Aid qualification. Learners must attend all 6 days to gain this qualifcation.
The personal licence course is assessed in the form of a multiple-choice exam which is externally assessed by the Awarding body.
The APLH course contents are focused on the Licencing Act 2003 and the responsible of selling alcohol.
There is no formal requirement for Personal licence course in Leicester as long as the candidate has basic functional skills (Numeracy, Literacy and ICT). You will also have to provide us with your Photo Identification such as Passport or Full UK driving License, Passport size photograph and Proof of Address.
Successful candidates will receive a Level 2 Award in Door Supervision certificate from an awarding body within England and Wales who are currently recognised by Ofqual and Department for Education and Skills.

Learners who will successfully complete Level 2 Award in working as Door Supervisor are eligible to work as Security guard or Door Supervisor. You will be able to work in Private Security Industry such as bars, pubs, clubs and other licenced premises at public events. The average salary for door supervisor is £17000 – £22000 per annum.
After successfully passing the exam, you will receive the certificate then you need to make an application to your local council. An application must also be made for a DBS certificate. Once issued, the Licence will last indefinitely, with no need to renew.

This qualification is aimed at individuals who wish to work or preparing to work in any industry that involves the retail sale of alcohol. Anyone wishing to sell or authorise the sale of alcohol on licenced premises must hold a personal licence.
This is a 1-day course covering the roles and responsibilities of a Personal Licence holder.
To get your personal licence, the first step is to attend and pass the 1-day Level 2 Award Personal Licence course. Once you pass and receive your certificate, you can apply via your local licensing authority.
A Personal Licence is valid from the date it was awarded and portable throughout England and Wales. There is no need of renewal, but in case of any change of name or address or foreign offence licence holders must inform the Licensing Authority.
Personal licence exam is not difficult at all. At the end of the course, you will need to pass a 40-question multiple choice examination. At least 28 out of the 40 questions in the exam must be correct to pass the exam. This multiple-choice exam is externally assessed by the Awarding body.
After successful completion of the course, certificates are dispatched within a week via mail. You will receive an email once your certificate is dispatched.
The application for a Personal Licence costs £37. This is non-refundable and is paid directly to your local council. For a DBS Check, you will also need to pay £25 if you have not already got one.
Yes, you can. Working in a bar or pub does not need a personal licence. Personal licence is only needed to authorise the sale of alcohol.
Having a criminal record does not mean that you cannot apply for a Personal Licence. However, the licensing authority will decide on whether your conviction is relevant to your licence application or not.
Some of the identity checks can be completed online. You will also need to have your passport photos signed by a solicitor or notary, a person of standing in the community or any individual with a professional qualification.
