The Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocationally related Achievement qualification has been designed for individuals who want to work as Assessors and assess learners in classroom or working environment. Achieving this Award will provide sufficient evidence that the learner has acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to work as an Assessor.

This course is suitable for new entrants or other security personnel who would like to widen their skills and be eligible to apply for a SIA Licence to work as a door supervisor within Private Security Industry. Once you have gained this qualification you would be able to work as a Door Supervisor in the UK and your employment chances will increase. This course is delivered by distance learning at your own pace with a Assessor/Tutor’s Support & Guidance. You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. The course is delivered online through our e-portfolio system. You will be given access to learning material and learning outcomes which will guide you on what you need to do for each unit.
There is no formal examination for this course, however learners are required to submit the portfolio. The unit 1 of the course is assessed by e-portfolio which demonstrates Learner’s knowledge against each of the assessment criteria of the course. Unit 2 will be assessed by learner practically assessing learner’s in working environment. Unit 3 will be assessed by learner practically assessing learner’s in classroom environment. Some portfolio evidence will need to be witnessed by a competent person in the workplace.

There is no formal requirement for this course as long as the candidate has basic functional skills (Numeracy, Literacy and ICT). You will also have to provide us with your Photo Identification such as Passport or Full UK driving Licence and Proof of Address of last 3 months.
Successful candidates will receive a Level 2 Award in Door Supervision certificate from an awarding body within England and Wales who are currently recognised by Ofqual and Department for Education and Skills.

Learners who will successfully complete Level 2 Award in working as Door Supervisor are eligible to work as Security guard or Door Supervisor. You will be able to work in Private Security Industry such as bars, pubs, clubs and other licenced premises at public events. The average salary for door supervisor is £17000 – £22000 per annum.

The Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) qualification is the only assessor’s qualification that will enable you to work as a fully qualified assessor. This is a transferable qualification to any sector and is equally suitable to assessors in classrooms or professional training.
The Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement includes one theory unit which assesses a candidate’s knowledge of the principles and practices of assessment and two practical units which assess a candidate assessors’ competence in assessing a learner’s vocational skills, knowledge and understanding both in a work environment and in contexts other than a work environment. Both these assessments will be observed.
After successful completion of the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement, you can progress to an internal quality assurance (IQA) qualification.
